Partner questions

What partners ask before signing.

Are documents ever transmitted to your servers?

No. PDF data is processed entirely in the attorney's browser. The only network traffic to BigLawPDF is the page load itself — no file uploads, no document content, no filenames. This is enforced architecturally, not by policy.

How does redaction work? Is it court-defensible?

Redaction draws an opaque black box into the page content stream and removes any underlying text in the export. The result is a flat raster region — the original text cannot be recovered by selecting, searching, or running OCR on the produced file. It meets FRCP 5.2 standards.

Do you support custom Bates prefixes per matter?

Yes. The Bates dialog accepts any alphanumeric prefix, configurable padding (1–10 digits), and an arbitrary start number per range. Common conventions like SMITH-000001 / PROD-00001 are supported out of the box.

Can the IT department deploy this firm-wide?

Yes — the Firm tier supports SSO/SAML integration, an air-gapped on-premise deployment option, audit log export, and a dedicated success engineer for rollout. Reach out and we will scope it.

Refunds and cancellation?

Cancel any time from inside the editor. Unused months on annual plans are refunded prorated, no questions asked.
